WIND RIDERS Featured in KOAT/ABC’s special segment for the Balloon Fiesta

We’re grateful that WIND RIDERS has been featured in the KOAT/ABC’s special segment for the Balloon Fiesta, the largest balloon festival in the world, which starts on Oct 2nd. They aired the segment twice to celebrate the launch of this special event in New Mexico. They interviewed one of the film’s Executive Producers, Michael Rosen, who provided insights of the story about three legendary balloon pilots: Richard Abruzzo, Carol Rymer Davis, and Bill Hughes. Richard Abruzzo was from Albuquerque, and the celebrated gas-balloon team of Richard and Carol helped put Albuquerque, New Mexico on the map with their achievements.

After the last year’s event was canceled due to the pandemic, the Balloon Fiesta will be back again this year with over 500 hot-air balloons floating in the sky to enthrall spectators for 9 days in Albuquerque. WIND RIDERS tells the poignant and inspiring stories of three American balloonists – a gas balloon team of Richard and Carol crossing continents and oceans in an epic and high-risk quest to defend their world title, and Bill, a masterful hot-air balloonist whose passion transcends generations with his iconic seagull-embossed balloon.

WIND RIDERS was released in the US & Canada, and is now available on all major digital Video on Demand and cable outlets. 5% of the filmmaker’s revenue will go to animal charities.

WIND RIDERS is created by Emi Katayama, a Newborn Dreamer films production in association with August Road Entertainment and Viceroy Films. Newborn Dreamer Films and Porter Pictures partnered with Gravitas Ventures, a Red Allow Studio company, released the film in the US and Canada this year.
